Using RefWorks:

A guide for Edge Hill University's staff and students

Overview

RefWorks is a great tool that allows you to store and organise your bibliographic references and allows you to generate references in the style of your choice.  For more details about RefWorks, together with online tutorials, take a look at the RefWorks Training Guide on the Learning Services webpages.

Importing bibliographic details into RefWorks

RefWorks allows you to export bibliographic information from a large number of online databases and electronic resources and import this information into your RefWorks account. This guide provides information on how to do this, as each interfaces is different.

Many online resources have direct links, where you can export references from the online publishing collections or databases directly into RefWorks. For others, this has to be done indirectly, by saving a reference file first them importing thia into RefWorks.  A guide for each of the electronic resource suscribed to by the Library where it is possible to either directly on indirectly import is shown in the SideBar pane (bottom left panel).

Unfortunately it is not possible to export from all of the electronic collections subscribed to be Edge Hill, click here for a list of these, but remember you can always put these references into your database manually or it may be possible to use tools such as RefGrabIT or Google Scholar RefWorks export to import your references.
